Laundry Room Refresh

Is transformation Tuesday still a thing? If not, it is now! Im excited to finally share my laundry room refresh with y’all.

This laundry room refresh was much needed. I’m telling you the before of this space is so embarrassing. I’ll post a pic below if yo don’t believe me.

Anyway, this project was super simple and pretty affordable too. Who doesn’t love an easy and affordable project?!

See I told you…embarrassing! And pretty boring too. Since we’re renting, I needed something that was easily removable and that wouldn’t break the bank.

So here’s what you need:

Since my wall is already a light gray color, the “white brick” look was pretty easy to achieve. Now, if your wall isn’t already a contrasting color I would consider painting it or maybe picking a different color white. Aside from possibly painting your wall, this project has essentially no prep work and only took me a few hours. I’m going to be completely honest here. I did not measure or level anything, but I think it turned out alright lol

Anyway, let me break it down for you.

The Process

  1. Paint wall if desired
  2. Cut sponge to desired shape and size.
    • Note that the sponges I recommended are pretty square. I rounded the corners of my sponges to make them look a little more “imperfect” like an actual brick.
  3. Shake paint well and pour into a paint pan or paper/foam plate.
  4. Lightly dip sponge in paint and wipe off excess.
    • You don’t want your sponge drenched with paint so it doesn’t drip.
  5. Start Painting!
    • Keep in mind that you will want to stamp the “brick” in an alternating pattern so it looks more realistic!

That’s literally it! This is one of the easiest and quickest projects I’ve ever done. It seriously amazes me what a little paint can do for a room. Here are few more pictures of the finished project. You can also check out the big reveal I did of this project here on Instagram.
